As I was about to say, Carnelian (also known as Cornelian) is a brownish-red mineral located in many placed around the world, but most commonly found in Peru, Sri Lanka and Thailand.  The brownish-red description does the stone little justice as it can vary from pale orange to to almost black, its coloration a result of iron oxide impurities.

Sometimes called the "Stone of Motivation" Carnelian is believed to inspire action and help people with procrastination, which is especially helpful if you have a tendency to put things off. It is also used as a talisman to protect against fire and misfortune, and in ancient times was believed to ward off insanity and depression.
